CARTER-DALTON BIRTHDAY

We went to the joint Carter/Dalton birthday party last weekend.

Liam took a quick car ride with Carter.



And with the help of some pizza (and Little Einsteins), survived the long car ride home with Dylan.

PENFIELD PATRIOT EAGLE

How does one go about getting a private photo session with the Penfield Patriot Eagle?

Liam: "HEY EAGLE!! HEY EAGLE!! COME SEE ME!!!!"

JACKSON'S BIRTHDAY

When we saw this scene at Jackson's birthday party all of the parents had the same sense of shock and realization.

"These three are probably going to be standing around in the backyard doing the same thing... with Genny Light, in about 18 years."

BABY DUTY

Liam has honestly gone above and beyond when it comes to showing love for Madeleine. We were not sure what to expect at first. He talked about the new baby that was on the way and we assumed he would like the baby but hey, you never know. Even if he was good we expected some jealousy.

It's never happened. He's exceeded anything we could have hoped for. He refers to Madeleine as, "that's my baby."

PHOTO SHOOT

Liam and Madeleine had a photo shoot together. This shot was one of the highlights and I think it speaks for itself.

KATHERINE'S BIRTHDAY

Katherine stayed at our house for a day. It was the day before her big birthday party but Liam wanted to get things started early.


Katherine's birthday wish: "Liam, stop blowing out my candles."



After the cup cake celebration we went for a hike in the woods.


I told Liam he was not allowed to run on the big bridge... then Katherine took off sprinting.


We stopped to read every sign.


We picked flowers.



Liam jumped off the benches to show off.

After the long hike we all hung upside down to rest.

BABY BATHTIME

For the most part Liam enjoys being the "big brother." When Madeleine cries he tells her everything is OK. He brings her bottles and diapers and NiNi's. He even checks up on us to make sure we are doing everything correctly for her.

However there is one time of day that he likes to go back to his roots. After bath time when he's getting dry Liam likes to cuddle up in his towel and pretend he's the baby. He'll snuggle in your arms and close his eyes while pretending to sleep.

It's a good idea to get his pajamas on him while he is docile before he snaps out of the baby state.

DRUM SOLO

I know we should nurture his interests and talents but do we have too start drum lessons?

Yeah, I know, everyone (kids and adults) wants to bang on the drums once in a while.

EASTER BUNNY

Jamie has Liam pretty amped for Easter. On "Easter Eve" he went to bed snuggling with his bunny to get ready for the candy bonanza tomorrow.

FIRST HIKE OF THE YEAR

THE GRILL IS OPEN

I got the grill ready yesterday so that Liam could cook up his first open flame meal of the grilling season. He thought the chicken was done after 20 seconds so I finished up for him.

TEDDY VISITED

Liam had a good time when Teddy came to Rochester for a visit.

JAMIE'S SON

IN MY PLACE

A conversation a few days ago that really put me in my place.

Liam was not wearing a diaper for his afternoon nap and he took an impressive dump while sleeping. It left his legs covered in crap. I picked him out of bed and hurried him to the bathroom to strip off his clothes and get him into the tub. I did plenty of damage on the way there and so I set the shower running for him to start cleaning off while I went to work wiping the splatter up off the bathroom floor.

From behind the shower curtain he started talking....

Liam: "Daddy, you there?'

Me: "Yup."

Liam: "You cleanin' up my poop?"

Me: "I sure am."

Liam: ".....OK... good job."

BLUE SLED

There has been little snow to work with this year. When we finally got a big storm today Liam and I went to the store to pick out a new sled. He picked out a blue one and we got some good runs in off the back deck.

LITTLE VALENTINE

Jamie knows she'll get nothing from my cold heart on Valentine's Day so she's recruited a new 'honey bear.'

(As long as he gets to eat the dough he's happy with the setup.)

BABY LOTION

In the old days I had to do all this work myself. Now I have a secretary. Thank you Liam.
